DARPA will host MTO Spark Tank for prospective proposers on July 24–25, 2025, in Aurora, Colo.
The event aims to broaden the Microsystem Technology Office's outreach within the innovation ecosystem, with a particular focus on small businesses, startups, and those new to working with DARPA who are eager to drive groundbreaking advancements in microsystems.
MTO Spark Tank offers teams and organizations a unique opportunity to connect with MTO leadership and program managers. Attendees will gain:
- A deeper understanding of MTO’s mission and research priorities, including photonic, quantum, and organic circuits; disruptive microsystem manufacturing tools and approaches; and dual-use design technologies that enhance both national security and commercial scalability.
- Dedicated one-on-one meetings with MTO program managers to discuss research alignment and potential collaboration opportunities.
- Practical guidance on partnering with DARPA, with an emphasis on reducing barriers for first-time proposers.
Advance registration is required. Registration is open until June 30, 2025.

Pitch Day
In conjunction with MTO Spark Tank, MTO will hold an invitation-only Pitch Day on July 25 for select proposers. Attendees will present their concepts directly to MTO program managers, with the chance to secure up to $400,000 in funding for short-term exploratory projects. This effort is designed to rapidly advance groundbreaking ideas that could shape future DARPA programs. More information can be found on the Pitch Day event page.
