The DARPA Public Release Center facilitates the process for releasing information to the public.
All Department of Defense unclassified information (such as papers, presentations, videos, images, news releases, etc.) must undergo a security and policy review before it is publicly released.
Instructions for submitting information and materials to DARPA’s Public Release Center are outlined on the Public Release Form, available at the link under Resources on this page.
- Is your work considered fundamental research and exempt from public release review? | Read Fundamental Research
- Email with any further questions about the public release process
- Read DoD Instruction 5230.9 for more information on the DoD security and policy review requirements
DARPA's process for the unlimited public release of Agency-related information is handled through the Distribution Statement A Request (DISTAR) online system, which is administered by DARPA's Public Release Center, part of the Agency's Business Processes Directorate. The DISTAR system is certified by DARPA program managers and executed jointly by the Agency's Public Affairs Office and Security and Intelligence Directorate (SID).

The Contract Management Office (CMO) team provides helpful instructions for proposers, including general terms and conditions, grants and agreements, procurement contracts, and other transactions.
After a review process, DARPA selects the winning proposal, notifies applicants, and awards a contract. CMO works closely with awardees throughout the contract signing process.
